Carrie’s Rage Unleashed On Prom Night
Stephen King’s “Carrie” was adapted to the big screen in 1976, with Sissy Spacek playing Carrie. It became one of cinema’s most iconic warnings about why you don’t want to mess with the lonesome weird kid. And, probably, why you should always listen when your crazy mother warns you not to go to the prom. Carrie’s mother insisted in one of the film’s most memorable lines that, “They’re all going to laugh at you!”
After the infamous prom prank played by her evil classmates, Carrie was left standing horrified, humiliated, and covered in pig’s blood, while everyone looked on in horror. After one girl laughed at her, Carrie lost her mind and imaged that her mother’s warning came true – that the entire prom crowd was laughing hysterically at her. In a moment of pure rage, she unleashes chaos on the entire prom using her telekinetic powers, killing both enemies and her few “friends,” leaving them all trapped in a burning building.
To this day, Carrie is considered one of the best adaptations of a Stephen King novel.
Carrie is available for streaming on several platforms, including Fubo, Prime Video, and more.
